REQUIREMENTS 

-Bachelor Degree is mandatory (degree in education is not required)
-Willingness to live abroad for one year or two years
-Desire to teach at any level –you may choose to teach Kindergarten, Elementary School, Middle School, High School, Vocational Schools or Training Centers​
​-Teaching experience is NOT required –if you have never been a teacher you can still apply. 
-Training is provided to you.

LIFE AS A TEACHER IN CHINA- What to expect
From the moment you arrive at the airport, a representative from the school will greet you, welcome you and take you to your apartment.  During your employment time, you will have a bilingual team supporting you with the knowledge to assist you in immersing yourself into the Chinese culture. 

Expect a different type of work environment!  As part of the team, you will experience team spirit and a work culture around team building and team environment.   There is a strong belief in balancing work and life.  It is very common for English Teachers to take trips together and network outside of work.  Many foreign teachers form bonds that last a life time.

Many of the schools sponsor networking events so that you can immerse yourself into the culture and network with other foreign teachers.  Schools also provide free Chinese language courses for those of you wishing to learn another language. 

COST OF LIVING IN CHINA
The cost of living in China is still favorably to most industrialized countries.  In China, you can afford a lifestyle that you are unlikely to enjoy in the United States.  The salary of a school Teacher in China is equivalent to an upper middle class in China.   With the salary of a school Teacher in China you can afford a housekeeper, travel, restaurants, massages, and luxuries that you may not be able to afford in the United States with the salary of a school teacher.

TRANSPORTATION IN CHINA
China has inexpensive public transportation.  Most people in China use public transportation and cycling as to commute to work and other locations.   Some of the public transportation options includes Metro Ride, Taxi, City Bus, Bicycle Rentals, Ferry and Trains for longer trips. 
The trains are increasingly high speed rail services connecting larger regional cities.   The high speed train for example connects you from Guangzhou to Wuhan in 3 hours.  The slow train connects you from Guangzhou to Wuhan in 10 hours.       

SAMPLE TEACHER MONTHLY SALARY & DISPOSABLE INCOME
Below is an example of a Teacher’s monthly budget and how a teacher spends his/her money. 
Gross Income monthly:  up to 13, 500 RMB
Rent:  3,000 RMB  (many of our school partners provide an apartment for free)
Utilities:  200 RMB (many of our school partners provide an apartment and utilities included for free)
Phone & Internet:  300 RMB
Food:  1,500 RMB
Insurance:  295 RMB (many of our school partners provide health insurance as part of compensation)
Remaining Disposable Income:  8,205 RMB

EXAMPLE PRICES ON RESTAURANT & ENTERTAINMENT
In China, most socializing with friends are at restaurants instead of homes.  It is pretty common to see friends exercising at gyms, getting massages and traveling for entertainment.   Below are examples of how much entertainment option may cost.
Movie Ticket:  65 RMB
Gym Membership 1 month:  150 RMB
Housekeeper (2 hours): 30 RMB
Massage (30 Minutes): 40 RMB
Street Food (steamed dumplings) for one person: 3 RMB
