In this unprecedented time, EdFuel, the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Education, and the DC Public Charter School Board are looking to provide a space for potential teacher candidates (you!) to connect virtually with schools, educator preparation programs, and city-wide support agencies. Our goal is to continue making progress towards ensuring that every student has access to high-quality and diverse teachers.
WHAT ORGANIZATIONS WILL BE AT THE FAIR?
The fair is geared toward both current and prospective teachers. At the fair, you’ll find representatives from:
HOW DOES A “VIRTUAL” RECRUITMENT FAIR WORK?
The virtual platform that will be used for the event allows for exhibitors (participating organizations) to host a virtual recruitment “booth” that candidates can enter to learn more about each organization and their current openings or program. Participants will have the opportunity to have one-on-one online text chats to determine relevant next steps (for example, beginning the official interview process).
WHAT SUPPORT WILL BE PROVIDED?
We understand that virtual job fairs are likely new for everyone. Because of this, EdFuel will be offering virtual preparation webinars for registered participants. These webinars will provide guidance on using the platform, how to effectively engage with schools via online text chat, and best practices for meaningful interaction with school recruiters.
These 60-minute preparation webinars are optional but highly recommended. Please use the following links to register for the webinar option that works best with your schedule:
As a commitment to D.C.’s current and prospective educators, funding for this fair was generously provided by Education Forward DC and The deLaski Family Foundation. This funding has allowed for the fair to be free and open to all candidates and participating organizations.
